The NYRA Royal Blue is a true vibrant cobalt — bold, saturated, and designed to command attention. It's not a muted navy or dusty blue; it's a high-energy royal blue that pops dramatically under ballroom and photography lighting. If you want to be the most visible person in the room, this is the right choice. If you prefer something softer or more understated, this particular colorway may not be the best fit. Under natural daylight it reads as a classic royal blue; under event lighting, the sequin corset bodice creates an almost electric shimmer effect.

The corset bodice looks sheer — will I have enough coverage?

The 'sheer' look is intentional and part of the design aesthetic. The bodice features built-in padded cups and strategic sequin placement that provides coverage while maintaining the illusion of sheerness. For most wearers, the built-in cups are sufficient. For total opacity or extra peace of mind, a seamless nude adhesive bra is the best option — it works invisibly under the sequin mesh without interfering with the lace-up back closure.

I'm between two sizes — how do I size for this mermaid gown?

Always size to your largest measurement — typically hips or bust. For mermaid silhouettes, the fit through the hips and thighs is the most critical point — if your hips fall between sizes, go up. The adjustable lace-up back provides several inches of flexibility at the waist and bust, but the satin skirt has no stretch. Sizing down risks restricted movement and discomfort. Will I be able to walk and dance comfortably in a mermaid gown with a high slit?

Yes — the high slit is specifically integrated into the asymmetrical hip ruching to allow natural movement in an otherwise fitted silhouette. You'll be able to walk and climb stairs comfortably. Sitting is manageable but the fitted skirt will feel snug — we recommend practicing before your event. For dancing, lead with your hips to let the slit part naturally and create a dynamic, flowing effect. The slit adds freedom of movement rather than restricting it.

Most sizes are out of stock — can I still order, and how long will it take?

Yes. Production takes approximately 30 days, plus shipping time which varies by destination. Currently only US 8 (1 unit) is available to ship immediately. All other sizes require production. We recommend ordering at least 6–8 weeks before your event. Rush production may be available for an additional fee — contact us as early as possible if your event is within 4 weeks.
